Molecular simulations of protein and peptide adsorption

Mark Biggs, Matthew Penna, Meisam Kiamahalleh & Milan Mijajlovic
The data set contains outputs of molecular dynamics simulations of peptide adsorption at solid/fluid interfaces. It is generated with the aim of discovering adsorption mechanisms and developing numerical methods for estimating free energy of adsorption. The results are expected to complement experimentally generated data and contribute in the design of new peptides, solid surfaces and solids in fields ranging from nanotechnology to medicine. The main tool use in generating the data set was the NAMD...

Online responses to survey examining perceptions of sponsorship and corporate social responsibility in a grassroots sports club

Carolin Plewa, Pascale Quester & Karen Palmer
This dataset entails 319 responses (and respective questions) to an online survey, distributed to the members of an SANFL club in 2011. The survey examined perceptions related to the club and one of its focal sponsors, a large electrical appliance retailer. Specifically, the survey measured constructs such as perceived sponsor and sport property corporate social responsibility image, self-congruity, perceived fit, perceived value of corporate social responsibility, corporate positioning, attitude and attributions, in addition to general...

Optimisation of Bamboo Reinforcement Within Earthquake-Resistant Construction

Alex Savory, Hannah Jury, Ned Magarey & Daniel Paukner
Earthquakes in countries such as Nepal have caused widespread damage and loss of life, largely due to the lack of well-designed building stock. Furthermore, research into earthquake-proofing of structures is weighted towards highly technical, expensive solutions that are not appropriate in all contexts. As such, there is a need for investigation into seismic strengthening techniques that are low-cost, sustainable and easy to construct, whilst still working cohesively with local building vernacular. Our research focussed on...

Elasmotherium collapsed (merged) R1 and R2 sequencing reads

Pavel Kosintsev, Kieren Mitchell, Thibaut Devièse, Johannes Van Der Plicht, Margot Kuitems, Ekaterina Petrova, Alexei Tikhonov, Thomas Higham, Daniel Comeskey, Chris Turney, Alan Cooper, Thijs Van Kolfschoten, Anthony J. Stuart & Adrian M. Lister
Collapsed (merged) R1 and R2 reads for Elasmotherium sibiricum samples from Illumina NextSeq. Residual adapter sequences have been removed (using AdapterRemoval).

CPT Data (South Parklands)

Mark Jaksa
These data files contain cone penetration test (CPT) measurements performed in Keswick Clay, in the South Parklands in Adelaide, South Australia, by Dr. Mark Jaksa, as part of his PhD research. The files are in ASCII format, with the first column containing depth below the ground surface (mm) to the tip of the cone penetrometer; the second containing cone tip resistance values, qc (MPa); and the third, sleeve friction values, fs (kPa). The data are...
