TRACK experiment

Guilhem Barruol
Seismic velocity tomography, geodynamic modelling and geochemical characterictics of the tertiary and quaternary volcanic activity provide an evidence for the ascent of a mantle plume beneath the MC during Tertiary. To characterize the pervasive upper mantle structures and the upper mantle flow beneath the French Massif Central, we deployed 25 three component stations (short period, intermediate and broad-band) during the period 1998-1999 in the southern Massif central, from the Clermont Ferrand volcanic area to the...

Otidea caeruleopruinosa is recorded for the first time outside Finland. Further morphological details are provided and a thorough comparison made to the original description. The variability of some characters is discussed and comments on species delimitation and systematic position within Otidea are given. A colour photograph is included, the first of O. caeruleopruinosa ever published

A recent collection in the same island (La Gomera) on palm material (Phoenix canariensis), along with absence of records from other locations since the date of its discovery suggest a possible endemism of this species to Canary Islands...

The genus Ascodesmis (Pezizales) in Norway

Roy Kristiansen
This report presents the four species of Ascodesmis (Ascomycota, Pezizales) recorded in Norway, and an updated map of their distribution. All are coprophilous, and occur on dung of both carnivorous and herbivorous animals. The species are illustrated by scanning electronmicrography of their ascospores, which is the main distinguishing character at species level. Systematics are briefly discussed, and Ascodesmis is genetically close to the genus Eleutherascus
