Diana Kuh, Rebecca Hardy, Marcus Richards, Rachel Cooper, Mai Stafford, Nikhil Sharma & Daniel Davis
The MRC National Survey of Health and Development (NSHD) has informed UK health care, education and social policy for more than 50 years and is the oldest and longest running of the British birth cohort studies. Today, with study members in their seventies, the NSHD offers a unique opportunity to explore the long-term biological and social processes of ageing and how ageing is affected by factors acting across the whole of life. <br>From an initial...

BRIGHTLIGHT: WAVE 1

Rachel Taylor
BRIGHTLIGHT is a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funded study (RP-PG-1209-10013) evaluating whether specialist services for teenage cancer add value. Specialist teenage and young adult (TYA) cancer services were implemented in England & Wales in 2005. Anecdotally, professionals and patients say 'specialist care' is "better" for TYA cancer treatment. The BRIGHTLIGHT study has been carried out to evaluate how specialist services affect the success of treatment and how well young people return to normal...

CDRC Estimated Change in the Rateable Value of Retail Premises

These data provide the output of a model that explores the variable impact of the recession on current retail business rates. Regionally adjusted values are presented at the local authority scale for England; alongside retail centre adjusted values for a series of case study locations. These data were generated for a report produced in collaboration with the Local Data Company. Ancillary data used within the model were supplied by the Valuation Office Agency and Colliers...

FireNet

Jan Boehm, Fabio Panella & Victor Melatti
FireNet
FireNet is an open ML training dataset for visual recognition of fire safety equipment. Our dataset directly links the objects to their respective Uniclass, the construction sector’s classification scheme to name objects. FireNet has been designed as a ML training dataset for experimentation and therefore fulfills multiple machine learning scenarios (classification, object detection, semantic segmentation). It is intended as a domain specific dataset to refine pre-trained standard architectures.

SynthCity Dataset - Area 3 (Test)

David Griffiths & Jan Boehm
With deep learning becoming a more prominent approach for automatic classification of three-dimensional point cloud data, a key bottleneck is the amount of high quality training data, especially when compared to that available for two-dimensional images. One potential solution is the use of synthetic data for pre-training networks, however the ability for models to generalise from synthetic data to real world data has been poorly studied for point clouds. Despite this, a huge wealth of...

Photographs used for Structure from Motion 3D Dental model generation Part 2

Christopher Silvester & Simon Hillson
Sets of photographs used to generate 3D models of dental models using Agisoft Metashape for 4 individuals. Individuals were from the St. Michael's Litten, Chichester assemblage (dated AD1550-1900) held at University College London. Sets of photographs are numbered according to specimen number. Specimen numbers are 889, 1462, 1629, 1728. The specimen numbers correspond to the skeleton numbers of each individual. The site code for St. Michael's Litten is ESC11. The structure-from-motion 3D dental models generated...
