Kustgenese 2.0

Rijkswaterstaat & Deltares
The Kustgenese 2.0 program aims at generating knowledge to enable well founded decisions on the policy and management of the Dutch coastal system as of 2020. Field campaigns have been carried out at the Ameland Inlet and the deeper foreshore area of the Wadden islands Ameland and Terschelling as well as offshore of Noordwijk at the Holland coast. The dataset contains bathymetry, flow, waves, sediment, macro benthic species and meteorological data.

SEAWAD: SEdiment supply At the WAdden Sea ebb-tidal Delta

Delft University of Technology, Utrecht University & University of Twente
SEAWAD aimed to gain new knowledge on the processes driving sediment transport and benthic species distribution in dynamic delta environments. A large-scale field campaign has been carried out on the ebb-tidal delta of Ameland Inlet, a basin of the Wadden Sea in the Netherlands. The dataset obtained from the field campaign consists of: (i) bathymetry data from single beam and multibeam measurements; (ii) flow, waves, sediment concentration, conductivity and temperature, bedforms and pressure; (iii) bed...

CHASE-PL: Climate change impact assessment for selected sectors in Poland.

Polish Academy of Sciences Institute for Agricultural and Forest Environment (IAFE), Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway) & Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW
The CHASE-PL project will contribute to improvement of understanding of climate change in Poland and its impacts in selected sectors in the country. The project will extend in numerous ways the state-of-the-art of the detection of change, projection of climate change and its impacts on water management, ecosystems and biodiversity, agriculture and food production.

SiLAS (Silicium Laser) Collection

Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, Masters and Scholars of the University of Oxford The Chancellor, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Universität Llinz, IBM Research GmbH & Technische Universität München
This collection contains results of the EU H2020 project “SiLAS: Silicon Laser" (programme H2020-EU.1.2.1.-FET Open; grant agreement: 735008). The project aims to revolutionize the electronics industry by adding intra-chip and chip-to-chip communication at the speed of light, offering a significantly reduced energy consumption. Cubic crystal phase SiGe is known to be great for electronics. The project proposes to develop hexagonal crystal phase SiGe (Hex-SiGe) which features a direct bandgap and will add photonic capabilities to...

OCEANURB - the unseen spaces of extended urbanization in the North Sea

N.R. (Nancy) Couling
The project investigates and maps spatial patterns in the North Sea, both the natural systems and those introduced through urbanization processes. The data-sets contain three types of data: GIS files for the geographical area of the North Sea according to themes (Seabed composition, Fish populations and Infrastructure), QGIS maps containing selected shape files and written reports for 4 Work Packages. The GIS files are the most recent versions available from different national sources or organisations,...

Datasets for evaluating FastqPuri and other RNA sequencing pre-processing tools.

J.C. (Julia) Engelmann
The collection consists of RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) datasets in fastq format which were used to evaluate FastqPuri ({https://github.com/jengelmann/FastqPuri/}). FastqPuri is a command line software which evaluates the quality of RNA-seq data, filters low quality and adapter sequences as well as sequence reads from biological contamination. The sequence data originate from samples of two different model organisms, Homo sapiens (human) and Arabidopsis thaliana (thale cress). Another data set was simulated to represent a human sample contaminated...

EVERLASTING: Electric Vehicle Enhanced Range, Lifetime And Safety Through INGenious battery management.

Vlaamse Instelling voor Technologisch Onderzoek (VITO), Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives (CEA), Siemens, Technische Universität München (TUM), TÜV SÜD Battery Testing, ALGOLiON, RWTH Aachen University, LION Smart, Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, Voltia & VDL Enabling Transport Solutions
The EVERLASTING project will develop innovative technologies to improve the reliability, lifetime and safety of Lithium-ion batteries by developing more accurate, and standardized, battery monitoring and management systems. This allows predicting the battery behavior in all circumstances and over its full lifetime and enables pro-active and effective management of the batteries, which leads to more reliability and safety which enables preventing issues rather than mitigating them. Moreover, by exploiting the interaction between the battery and...

Catalyst Cascade Reactions in ‘One-Flow’ within a Compartmentalized, Green-Solvent ‘Digital Synthesis Machinery’ – End-to-End Green Process Design for Pharmaceuticals.

Eindhoven University of Technology, Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry Graz University of Technology, Institute of Process and Particle Engineering (IPPE) Delft University of Technology, Department of Biotechnology University of Bielefeld, France Faculty of Chemistry CNRS = National Center for Scientific Research (Centre National pour la Recherche Scientifique CNRS), LGPC unit University of Hull, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry University of Cambridge & Graz Austria Department of Chemistry Microinnova Engineering GmbH
The ONE-FLOW project translates a ‘vertical hierarchy’ of chemical multistep synthesis with its complex machinery into a self-organising ‘horizontal hierarchy’ of a compartmentalized flow reactor system – a biomimetic digital flow cascade machinery with just one reactor passage. To keep the horizontal hierarchy manageable, orthogonality needs to be increased among the different consecutive reactions.

Beneficial use of dredged sediment to enhance salt marsh development by applying a 'Mud Motor'.

EcoShape, Wageningen University & Research & Deltares
The EcoShape Building with Nature project "Salt Marsh Development with a Mud Motor" looks at the potential for furthering the development of salt marshes in the Wadden Sea by making optimal use of the sediment transport capacity of tidal flows.

Ports and Waterways @ TU Delft 2019

M. (Mark) van Koningsveld & Poonam Taneja
Video material for a masters level course on functional design and capacity planning of the various elements of ports and waterways, such as terminals and locks. The learning in this series of videos is essential for planning and designing the overall system.
