A large part of the large genus Sphagnum from the Trøndelag area, northern Norway and Svalbard has been revised recently. As the herbarium is being digitized, a lot is being done to improve data quality (taxonomic revision) and the quality of the physical specimens themselves (new labels etc).

Collections from the late 1800s and early 1900s comprise the foundation of this collection, primarily through the work of Ingebrigt Severin Hagen who worked at the NTNU University Museum from 1907 until his death in 1917.
