Related data for: Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks as capacitive deionization electrodes for water desalination and Cr(VI) adsorption: A molecular simulation study

Terence Hong Zhi Xiang
In this study, molecular dynamics simulation is used to screen four Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) using the same organic linker but with different metal atoms as the electrodes in capacitive deionization (CDI) desalination to simultaneously remove both salty and Cr(VI) ions in the starting period. Their CDI performance is tested in terms of water flux and ion rejection, and the effect of ZIF types is investigated and explained by radial distribution function (RDF) and ion...

Replication Data for: Enhanced Photovoltaic Performance and Thermal Stability of CH3NH3PbI3 Perovskite through Lattice Symmetrization

Feng Shao, Peng Qin, Dong Wang, , Bo Wu, , Wei Peng, , &
The organic–inorganic lead halide perovskites are attractive materials for photovoltaic application. The most widely studied perovskites based on methyl ammonium organic cation are less likely to form an ideal high-symmetry configuration at room temperature, leading to the appearance of local lattice strain. Herein, this study reports a strategy for the construction of thermally stable cubic perovskites at room temperature through the incorporation of the larger organic cation dimethyl ammonium. Detailed characterization on the single crystals...

Replication Data for: Sharp toroidal resonances in planar terahertz metasurfaces

Manoj Gupta, Vassili Savinov, Ningning Xu, Longqing Cong, Govind Dayal, Shuang Wang, Weili Zhang, Nikolay I. Zheludev & Ranjan Singh
Toroidal dipole excitation in planar metasurface provides an alternate approach towards excitation of high Q resonances. In contrast to conventional multipoles, toroidal dipole interaction strength depends on the time derivative of the surrounding electric field. A characteristic feature of a toroidal dipole is tightly confined loops of oscillating magnetic field that curl around the fictitious arrow of a toroidal dipole vector in 3D space.

Related Data for: What determines teachers’ use of motivational strategies in the classrooms? A self-determination theory perspective

Woon Chia Liu, Chee Keng John Wang, Johnmarshall Reeve, Ying Hwa Kee & Lit Khoon Chian
This study examined the antecedents of teachers’ use of motivational strategies in the classroom using self-determination theory. It was found that teachers’ autonomous causality orientation, perceived job pressure, and perception of student self-determined motivation influenced their need satisfaction. In turn, their need satisfaction had a positive direct impact on autonomous motivation. In addition, teachers’ perception of their students’ self-determined motivation directly predicted teachers’ use of three motivational strategies in the classroom. Finally, their autonomous motivation...

Related Data for: A longitudinal study on starting teachers’ retention intentions: Do pre-teaching work experience and length of working years make a difference?

Anne Lin Goodwin, Ee Ling Low, Li Cai & Alexander Seeshing Yeung
This 4-wave longitudinal study examined how starting teachers' retention intentions changed over three years. One-way repeated-measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) found a significant main effect of time on retention intention. Two-way ANOVA also showed a significant main effect of pre-teaching work experience, and years of work experience on retention intention. However, there was no significant interaction effect between time and pre-teaching work experience, and between time and years of prior work experience. These findings suggest...

Related Data for: Influence of shoe midsole hardness on plantar pressure distribution in four basketball-related movements

Wing Kai Lam, Wei Xuan Ng & Pui Wah Kong
This study examined how shoe midsole hardness influenced plantar pressure in basketball-related movements. Twenty male university basketball players wore customized shoes with hard and soft midsoles (60 and 50 Shore C) to perform four movements: running, maximal forward sprinting, maximal 45° cutting and layup. Plantar loading was recorded using an in-shoe pressure measuring system, with peak pressure (PP) and pressure time integral (PTI) extracted from 10 plantar regions. Compared with hard shoes, subjects exhibited lower...
