Efficient manuscript writing in six steps
Stefan T. Arold
When it comes to manuscript writing, many students and junior scientists tend to face the same difficulties and make the same mistakes because they lack a structured approach and basic guidelines. This situation leads to a highly inefficient and frustrating process, where students spend much time producing an initial draft that has fundamental structural and stylistic flaws. The mentor then either needs to spend an equally excessive amount of time explaining all the mistakes to...

BEOL NEM Relay-Based Inductorless DC-DC Converters Ren Li, Dias Azhigulov, Ahmed Allehyani, and Hossein Fariborzi Introduction •The voltage level requirement varies across the integrated circuit chip. Therefore, on-chip voltageconversions are crucial for anychip to be operational. •This work proposes a novel solution for voltage regulation using Back-End-Of-Line (BEOL)NEM relays. •The proposed Buck and Boost converters offer low voltage ripple, high conversion efficiency and low area overhead. Relay and its Operation •The relay is actuated electrostatically...

Simulating the Unstructured Mesh Deformation of Moving SARS-CoV-2 Virus Bodies
Youssef Mesri, Wael Bader, Rabab Alomairy, Hatem Ltaief & David E. Keyes
Simulation of fluid-structure interactions involving moving 3D bodies requires computation of large mesh deformations. The Radial Basis Function (RBF) technique is an interpolation method that produces high-quality unstructured adaptive meshes. We model the 3D mesh deformation and simulate the effect of hydrodynamics on a population of the novel coronaviruses (i.e., SARS-CoV-2) with realistic geometries. These videos show the 3D unstructured mesh deformation around moving SARS-CoV-2 virus bodies over successive time steps. Computing the 3D mesh...
