Southern Sierra Nevada Fractional Land Cover 2014 - 2018

Eric L. McGregor, Rebecca E. Green, Kathryn L. Purcell, Jody M. Tucker, Sean M. Matthews & David S. Green
This dataset is designed to capture landscape changes brought on by a severe tree mortality episode in California's southern Sierra Nevada range, by mapping multiple land cover types in a continuous way at annual time-steps throughout the mortality event. By mapping multiple land cover types we can see not only the occurrence of tree mortality explicitly, but also associated landscape changes, such as reduced live forest cover and increased bare ground cover. Fractional cover maps...

Transcriptome assembly and analyses of gene expression in diploid wheat Triticum monococcum

Background: Triticum monococcum (2n) is a close ancestor of T. urartu, the A-genome progenitor of cultivated hexaploid wheat, and is therefore a useful model for the study of components regulating photomorphogenesis in diploid wheat. In order to develop genetic and genomic resources for such a study, we constructed genome-wide transcriptomes of two Triticum monococcum subspecies, the wild winter wheat T. monococcum ssp. aegilopoides (accession G3116) and the domesticated spring wheat T. monococcum ssp. monococcum (accession...

Data and code from: Variability in academic research data management practices: implications for data services development from a faculty survey

Amanda L. Whitmire
This dataset includes comma-separated text files with tabular data from survey responses and the R code used to visualize them. The following abstract describes the research study. See the README file for a more thorough description of the data. Purpose: The purpose of this case study is to demonstrate how knowledge of local research data management (RDM) practices critically informs the progressive development of data services (RDS) after basic services have already been established. Design/methodology/approach:...

Assessing the impact of diffusion model on the turbulent transport and flame structure of premixed lean hydrogen flames: hydrogen data

Aaron Fillo, PETER HAMLINGTON & Kyle Niemeyer
This dataset contains results from direct numerical simulations of premixed, three-dimensional, turbulent hydrogen/air flames, using the multicomponent and mixture-averaged diffusion models. In particular, this dataset contains information about the enstrophy budget and flame structure. We performed the simulations using the finite-difference code NGA; simulation details are described completely in the associated article.

Data for Highways, crossing structures and risk: Behaviors of Greater Yellowstone pronghorn elucidate efficacy of road mitigation

David S. Green
These datasets document observations of pronghorn crossing structures in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem between 2011 and 2014. These datasets include information about the probability of pronghorn crossing the structures and their behaviors around the structures themselves (e.g., sustained vigilance, stress).

Bean CAP Snap Bean Diversity Panel Passport Data

James R. Myers
The accessions used to create the Snap Bean Diversity Panel were 149 snap bean cultivars and germplasm lines selected from North American and European germplasm. This panel was developed with support from the Common Bean Coordinated Agriculture Project (USDA-NIFA grant no. 2009-85606-05964). The accompanying data set contains information, where known, about pod traits and plant growth habit, USDA-NPGS Plant Introduction (PI) number, who bred the cultivar, market class and pod sieve size, plant variety protection...

Spatiotemporal variation in Oregon salt marsh expansion and contraction

Erin Peck & Robert A. Wheatcroft
The dataset is a layer file created in ArcGIS Pro 2.2. The dataset includes digitized outlines of the seaward edges of five Oregon salt marshes (Nehalem, Netarts, Salmon, Alsea, and Coquille). These are roughly decadal from 1939 to 2018 and were hand-digitized using historical aerial photography (1939 to the late 1990s) scanned at the University of Oregon’s Map & Aerial Photography Library and aerial imagery downloaded from the Oregon Statewide Imagery Program (https://www.oregon.gov/geo/Pages/imagery_data.aspx). Historical aerial...

Willamette River Floodplain 100 Meter Slices Framework Tabular Attribute Data

David Hulse, Chris Enright & Allan Branscomb
The Slices Framework is intended for use in making decisions about conservation and restoration in the Willamette River floodplain. It makes use of distinct spatial units for tracking change in the floodplain. The first of these units are 1 kilometer long slices drawn at right angles to the floodplain, first put forward in the Willamette River Basin Planning Atlas (Ch. 8 pp. 131-147 in Hulse, Gregory and Baker 2002). The second of these units are...

Explaining Reinforcement Learning To Mere Mortals: An Empirical Study - Supplementary Materials

Andrew A Anderson
This dataset is the supplementary materials for the research paper "Explaining Reinforcement Learning to Mere Mortals: An Empirical Study". In an age where AI has become more pervasive, making decisions for us, it's reasonable to expect it to explain itself. What should these explanations look like? This study takes a look at the effectiveness of two visual explanation types: saliency maps (the eyeballs of the AI) and decomposed reward bars (its crystal ball for a...

Identification of Cervical Cancer Key Regulators using Network Biology Approach - Supplementary tables

Dariia Vyshenska & Andrey Morgun
This data contains large supplementary tables for the PhD dissertation of Dariia Vyshenska. Title of the Dissertation: "Identification of Cervical Cancer Key Regulators using Network Biology Approach" Dataset contains data from two researches. Research #1: Identification of bacterial regulators of cervical cancer gene expression. It contains microbial community's data from cervical cancer samples of human patients. Prevotella bivia was identified as a key bacterial regulator of cervical cancer gene expression using reconstruction of transkingdom network...

Land-use in the Willamette Valley from 2004-2017

Bogdan Strimbu, George Mueller-Warrant & Kristin Trippe
The Willamette Valley, bounded on the west by the Coast Range and on the east by the Cascade Mountains, is the largest river valley completely confined to Oregon. The fertile valley soils combined with a temperate, marine climate create ideal agronomic conditions for seed production. Historically, seed cropping systems in the Willamette Valley have focused on the production of grass and forage seeds. In addition to growing over two-thirds of the nation’s cool-season grass seed,...

Modeling of an Urban Radiocesium Pathway from Catchment to Wastewater Treatment Sludge - Dataset

George MH NG
This archive is a compilation of SWMM input files and STELLA models, augmented by R scripts to perform various processing for sensitivity analysis, data import / export, plot generation and computation of various summary outputs. Part I is the sensitivity analysis of a SWMM model representative of the case study in Urso et al (2013). An extended Fourier Amplitude Sensitivity Testing (eFAST) work flow for this SWMM model is implemented in R script. Part II...

Hyperspectral reflectance data of wheat in situ and lab scans infected with soilborne wheat mosaic virus

Marja Haagsma, Christina Hagerty, Duncan Kroese & Elizabeth Jachens
Hyperspectral images were taken in a lab setting from wheat leaves and in situ from agricultural wheat fields and disease nursery. The goal of this research was to find infection of soilborne wheat mosaic virus in wheat for early detection using digital imagery, i.e., either hyperspectral or multispectral.

River restoration practitioner survey on engineering design for climate change

Desirée Tullos
An online survey of river restoration practitioners, engineers, and researchers was conducted to examine current practices and perspectives on how climate change is integrated into engineering designs for river restoration. Seventy-six responses were submitted to the survey. While the responses came from a wide range of demographies, respondents were most commonly men, age 35-44, with professional degrees working as practitioners in consulting firms. The most frequent respondents work in engineering or engineering geomorphology in the...
