Die in diesem Kollektion angelegte Daten wurden im Rahmen des Exkursionsmoduls "Kaukasiologische Feldforschung" erhoben. Das Modul wurde im WS 2012/13 im Rahmen des Studiengangs BA-Ergänzungsfach Kaukasiologie an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena angeboten. Die Feldforschung 2012 richtete sich auf die Dokumentation der nichtschriftlichen Graffiti-Zeichen an den Kirchwänden in Svanetien. Diese Zeichen stehen mit anderen schriftlichen Graffiti-Zeichen zusammen oder alleine und stellen meistens eine Reihe von senkrecht eingekratzten Strichen dar. Deutschsprachige Minderheiten in Rumänien und der Ukraine

Die Feldforschung zu deutschen Minderheiten in Rumänien und der südlichen Ukraine (Czernowitz) fand vom 30. September bis zum 13. Oktober 2018 statt. Mit dem Zug reisten die TeilnehmerInnen von Jena über Budapest nach Timișoara/Temeswar im westlichen Rumänien. Mit Mietwagen wurden anschließend verschiedene Stationen und Orte besucht: - Nițchidorf/Nitzkydorf, - Sibiu/Hermannstadt, - Brașov/Kronstadt, - Alțâna/Alzen, - Sighișoara/Schäßburg, - Biertan/Birthälm, - Mediaș/Mediasch und schließlich - Cluj/Klausenburg. The reason for this recording was the celebration of the Limkheeri festival with a group of Belgians and Germans and some villagers.Gigo Chamgeliani (the Chamgeliani sisters’ uncle), Murad Pirtskhelani and Romeo Pirtskhelani did the service. They brought Romeo from Lat’ali to help.

Name of ensemble: Singers from the Amaghleba choir The church and folk choir: Amaghleba (chanters from Ioakime and Ana’s church at Chokhatauri). Music wise “ლატლა̈რ-ცხჷმრა̈ლ” is a rhythmic-melodic model which is a basis for other hymns such as, for example, “ცხაუ̂ ქრისდე̄შ”. “ნომ ჯაჟარ(ე)ხ მესყა̄̈ნიე̄ლას” musically is identical to “დია̄დებ” in following: (1) a form is responsorial: a soloist recitation followed by a choir response; (2) Cadence part is the same; it’s interesting that the beginning of the choir response employs the same musical-verbal (vocable) pattern as “ადა̈ჲ ჯუყვა”. The ensemble, consisting of eco-migrant Svans who moved down in Ts'alk'a in 2000-2006, was founded in 2006. On the day of the recording two members were missing. Some of the singers (Gunt'er Gvichiani, Guram Nansq’ani, Merab Gurguliani) would be part of რიჰო (Riho) choir and ლატალი (La’tali) choir. Funeral of Risi Pirtskhelani, Romeo Pirtskhelani’s mother. We were invited to the funeral to record “ზა̈რ” a hymn of a mourning ritual. Recorded two modes of “ზა̈რ”, one from Lat'ali and the other from Lower Bal Svaneti. On the day we also video-recorded Ninia Tserediani, as she wailed for the deceased.
