Therapie sexueller Beziehungsstörungen (Teil 2)
Steffen Fliegel

Abel PackerNot a Mobile Developer? Not a Developer!
Dino Esposito
Already back in 1999 some smart guys came around predicting that mobile would have been the primary focus of development in only a few years. It actually took a bit more than expected but the era of mobile software arrived at last. Why did it take so long? The answer is surprisingly simple: mobile software needed a critical mass of users to take off. The process of users aggregation started probably with the release of...

Séminaire de la série "Fundamental Questions and Amazing Logic of Molecular Biology" Le 30 juin 2017 à l'Institut Henri Poincaré Orateur: Vincent Colot Titre : Transgenerational Epigenetics: of plants and men. Résumé : Genetics, the science of heredity, tends to be equated nowadays with the study of variations in DNA sequences in relation to heritable differences in phenotypes. However, as I will illustrate, there is increasing evidence that epigenetic processes can and do also contribute...

Modeling Distributed Systems with NServiceBus Studio
Udi Dahan
As developers build larger and more distributed systems than ever before, many questions come up around modeling like, how do I represent services, how do I compose these services into physical endpoints, and how should cross-cutting concerns like authentication and auditing be handled. Join Udi for a first look at NServiceBus Studio - a modeling environment based on the decades-old principles behind NServiceBus yet fully integrated with code-generation into Visual Studio.
The Single Responsibility Principle.
Robert Cecil Martin
Let's do a deep dive into the first of the SOLID principles. What is a responsibility? Why should it be single? How do we make it single? We'll examine all these issues in extreme detail. We'll look at some old code to see whether it conforms or not. We'll also look at various design patterns and strategies that help us conform to this principle.
NuGet: From Zero to DONE in no time.
Phil Haack
Developers are known for “scratching their own itch,” producing thousands of libraries to handle every imaginable task. NuGet is an open source package manager from the Outercurve Foundation for .NET (and Windows) developers that brings these libraries together in one gallery and accelerates getting started with a project. It makes it easy to incorporate these libraries in a solution. In this talk, Phil Haack, project coordinator for NuGet, will describe the problem that NuGet solves,...
Mind Control Your Computer In C#
Guy Smith-Ferrier
The world of neuroscience changed over the last 5 years. Neuroheadsets (headsets that read brainwaves) became affordable and accessible. Neuroscience is no longer confined the realm of huge research budgets and professors in lab coats. It is accessible to regular developers. This session illustrates a neuroheadset that reads brain waves and uses a C# API to allow developers to recognise facial expressions, emotions and cognitive thought – that is, the headset can read basic, deliberate...
scriptCS deep dive. Extending, customizing and embedding in your applications.
Filip Wojcieszyn
There have been plenty of talks at various conferences covering scriptcs 101. In this talk, we will go way beyond the basics and deep dive into the scriptcs world, covering its extensibility points, flexibility and scriptcs hosting. How do you write scriptcs script packs? How do you write scriptcs modules? How do you host scriptcs in your own .NET applications? How do you write a custom engine for scriptcs (yes, it can work with any...
Publishing and the Gatekeepers
Charlotte Roh
Money is not the only barrier to access to research that has led many of us to open access publishing. For many library publishers, university-based journal systems, OER creators, and subject repositories, one of the contributing factors has been the making of space for different voices that have been told that the market is not there for the work. New publishing practitioners quickly realize this is not the case, the proof visible in scale and...
Public Knowledge and Connecting Communities with Academia
Micky Metts
Schools and students are traditionally disconnected from their community and seldom do they work on interrelated projects that will benefit both the school and the people of the community. Solution: Mentoring students to develop applications using free software, such as the Drupal content management system, will introduce students to the myriad of careers, disciplines and skills necessary to build a successful web presence around a sustainable business model - cooperatively. A web presence is more...
Nix Flakes in production
Alexander Bantyev
At Serokell, we have been using Nix for over 5 years. In the last half-year, we have started an effort to use flakes to build our infrastructure and projects. In this talk, I would like to give a refresher of what flakes are, explain why we are so excited about them, and share experiences, thoughts, and advice on the matter.
How to change the Nix ecosystem to become mainstream?
Domen Kožar
Nix is almost 20 years old. The innovation Nix brought is now present in almost all recent packaging tooling, while Nix hasn't been adopted yet by a larger audience. Why should we care about that? What can we do to remove the barriers to mainstream adoption? We'll look at examples from books, similar stories and what people and leaders of our industry are saying. We'll dive into each topic briefly, providing an opinionated set of...
AMOC-EKM fingerprints in MPI-ESM-MR during 1979 - 2014 (3-month lag)
Julianna Oliveira
AMOC-EKM fingerprints shown as correlations at 3-month lag between the AMOC computed without the Ekman transport component (AMOC-EKM) and SSTs, with AMOC leading. Correlations are averaged with a 15-year running window using an assimilation experiment with MPI-ESM-MR.
