This dataset includes carbon and sulfur data, major- and trace-metal data and biomarker data. The carbon and sulfur data were analyzed by an Eltra 2000 C-S analyzer at the University of Cincinnati. The major- and trace-metal data were analyzed by an ICAP-Q quadrupole ICP-MS at Arizona State University. The biomarker data were analyzed in Molecular Geobiology Lab in China University of Geosciences (Wuhan).

By constraining air contamination in gases from Iceland, Eifel (Germany), and Yellowstone (USA), we derive new estimates for mantle d15N (fractional difference in 15N/14N from air), N2/36Ar and N2/3He.
