Funded by a Rice University consortium of petroleum companies, this 1996 R/V Lone Star survey collected CHIRP data on the Texas inner continental shelf near Freeport, Texas. The objectives were to study the evolution of the sediment supply. Data archiving funded by the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM). CHIRP navigation was supplied by a line log correlating time to latitude/longitude with navigation interpolated to the shots in between.

Fumarolic gas compositions at La Soufrière were directly measured in the field by using MultiGAS. Walking traverses have been carried out downwind around the craters. The transects have been used to fit a plume profile and calculate gas fluxes.

Major element data for olivine, orthopyroxene, and spinel within peridotites from the Southwest Indian Ridge, used to calculate oxygen fugacity. All values were determined by EPMA. Fe3+/tFe values for spinel were determined by stoichiometry and corrected using a suite of calibration spinels previously run by Mössbauer (following the technique presented in Davis et al., 2017).
