This dataset presents results from compound-specific radiocarbon analyses (14C) of long-chain fatty acids from sediment core samples from cruise SO93 on R/V Sonne in the Bay of Bengal. These data are used as records of post-glacial changes in precipitation and the potential climate feedbacks through organic-carbon burial in the Bengal Fan.

Red Sea gridded multibeam swath bathymetry from the Jeddah Transect Project

The multibeam bathymetry data was collected during Poseidon cruise 408 in 2011 with an ELAC Seabeam 3050 system and during Pelagia cruises 64PE350 and 64PE351 in 2012 with a Kongsberg Simrad EM302 system. The raw data were post-processed and gridded at a resolution of 30m with QPS Fledermaus Pro. The data file is in GeoTIFF floating point grid format and was generated as part of the Jeddah Transect Project.

The full-waveform information is captured in the "real" data channel during acquisition. Here, the full-waveform data has been extacted and is stored in SEG-Y format. Funding for the project was provided by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, under Agreement Number M16AC00020.

Moderately Volatile Elements in Mare Basalts

Moderately volatile elements (MVEs) are more robust than their highly volatile counterparts. The quantification of highly volatile elements in some lunar material has spurred questions on the retention or loss of volatiles. The MVEs are a geologic tracer of high-temperature degassing events and have shown that the late-stage lunar magama ocean lost volatiles. This event has been interpreted to be a crustal breaching impact.

This data set was acquired with a Kongsberg Maritime EM302 Multibeam Sonar during R/V Falkor expedition FK151005 conducted in 2015 (Chief Scientist: Dr. William Sager). These data files are of MBSystem-compatible format and include Acoustic Backscatter and Swath Bathymetry data that were processed after acquisition. This data was quality controlled by Mollie Celnick of the MGDS Team for inclusion in the Global Multi-Resolution Topography (GMRT) Synthesis (version 3.5).

This dataset contains major and minor element contents for feldspathic Apollo 16 impact melt 60635,19. The sample was digested using HF and HNO3 before being brought into solution prior to analyzing with an Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES) at the University of Notre Dame's Center for Environmental Science and Technology (CEST). SiO2 is determined by difference due to Si being volatilized in the acid digestion process as SiF4.

In this dataset we present detrital zircon U-Pb geochronology from the Magallanes-Austral retroarc foreland basin of Chile and Argentina (51°30’S). Detrital zircon U-Pb geochronology data show mostly Neogene (~20-40 Ma) and Cretaceous (~70-110 Ma) age groups, with minor amounts of Jurassic (~145-155 Ma) and Paleozoic (~260-540 Ma) zircons that are consistent with a syndepositional arc and recycled external-fold-and thrust belt sources.
