4,16-Dibromo[2.2]paracyclophane (74.0 g, 202 mmol, 1.00 equiv.) was suspended in triglyme (330 mL) and heated to 215 °C for 12 h. After cooling to room temperature, the liquid was decanted and diluted with diethyl ether (350 mL).
