Many techniques have been used to measure the Young’s modulus of ice. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to develop a more effective and precise technique. The impulse-echo method has been used to measure the longitudinal ultrasonic velocities of three different types of specimens. From this, the Young’s modulus has been calculated.
