We present carbon and oxygen isotope values and planktonic/benthic ratios for middle Miocene (11-17.5 Ma) foraminifers deposited at Ocean Drilling Program Hole 744B in the Southern Ocean. Major features of the isotope records are similar to those of other middle Miocene open-ocean records. The portion of the sequence containing the major middle Miocene d18O increase (between 60 and 52 m below seafloor) is a relatively condensed zone characterized by low planktonic/benthic ratios and several hiatuses.The...
