N(CH3)4SnC2H6Br3 is Silicon tetrafluoride-derived structured and crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pbcm space group. The structure is zero-dimensional and consists of four tetramethylammonium molecules and four SnC2H6Br3 clusters. In each SnC2H6Br3 cluster, Sn4+ is bonded in a trigonal bipyramidal geometry to two C+2.67- and three Br1- atoms. Both Sn–C bond lengths are 2.15 Å.
