(K)3KSn23 is Matlockite-derived structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3n space group. The structure is three-dimensional and consists of six potassium molecules and one KSn23 framework. In the KSn23 framework, K is bonded in a distorted body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Sn atoms. All K–Sn bond lengths are 4.03 Å. There are three inequivalent Sn sites.
