Bi3Se4Br crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are three inequivalent Bi3+ sites. In the first Bi3+ site, Bi3+ is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to three Se2- and four equivalent Br1- atoms. There are one shorter (2.78 Å) and two longer (2.80 Å) Bi–Se bond lengths.
