CaBi2O2(CO3)2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ca2+ is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent O2- atoms. All Ca–O bond lengths are 2.50 Å. C4+ is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to three O2- atoms. There is two shorter (1.28 Å) and one longer (1.32 Å) C–O bond length.
