HSbO3 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4_1/amd space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sb5+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form corner-sharing SbO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 41–48°. There are four shorter (1.96 Å) and two longer (2.09 Å) Sb–O bond lengths. H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom.
