Dy2IrNi is Heusler structured and crystallizes in the cubic Fm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Dy is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to four equivalent Ir and four equivalent Ni atoms. All Dy–Ir bond lengths are 2.95 Å. All Dy–Ni bond lengths are 2.95 Å. Ir is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Dy atoms. Ni is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Dy atoms.
