SmPb3 is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the monoclinic Pm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sm is bonded to twelve Pb atoms to form a mixture of face and corner-sharing SmPb12 cuboctahedra. There are a spread of Sm–Pb bond distances ranging from 3.52–3.54 Å.
