YFe2O4 is Spinel structured and crystallizes in the trigonal R-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Y3+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form YO4 tetrahedra that share corners with twelve FeO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 57–61°.
