Sb2S5 crystallizes in the monoclinic P2_1/c space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of one Sb2S5 sheet oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. there are two inequivalent Sb5+ sites. In the first Sb5+ site, Sb5+ is bonded to five S2- atoms to form distorted SbS5 trigonal bipyramids that share corners with two equivalent SbS4 tetrahedra, corners with two equivalent SbS5 trigonal bipyramids, and an edgeedge with one SbS5 trigonal bipyramid.
