Integrated Time Average Shear Wave Velocity to a Depth of 30 Meters (Vs30) Map of Texas

Meibai Li, Ellen Rathje, Brady Cox & Michael Yust
Vs30 is an important parameter used for characterizing site response in seismic analysis. With new measurements of Vs30 in Texas, we are able to create an integrated Vs30 map for Texas that is based on (1) available observations of Vs30 in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, (2) a geologic proxy for Vs30 based on rock type and geologic age, and (3) geostatistical kriging that integrates the geologic proxy predictions of Vs30 along with the Vs30 observations....
