This is an excerpt of children doing the magnet imitation task on both a touchscreen and on a magnet board. The task allows researchers to probe how children learn to transfer information between 2D and 3D surfaces to examine memory representations. In practice the task has implications for puzzle play and also for learning from touchscreens and television during early childhood.
