The AVGR is a unique facility, allowing for the experimental investigation of small-scale hypervelocity impacts in a controlled atmosphere and target bed, with a variation of impact velocities and angles. The June 2012 AVGR campaign aimed at investigating impact generated seismic signals on planetary surfaces, taking over from past experiments 40 years before.
