Cisplatin (CDDP; cis-diamminedichloroplatinum) resistance presents a major impediment in the treatment of several gynecologic solid tumors, including ovarian and cervical tumors. p53, a critical regulator of cellular apoptosis, is a determinant of CDDP sensitivity.
