The Copernicus Polar Ice and Snow Topography Altimeter (CRISTAL) mission is planned to be launched in 2027 and will carry the first Ku/Ka band interferometric altimeter (IRIS) for enhanced sea ice thickness measurement and overlying snow depth retrieval.
