Comparison of rotational and linear welding of different wood materials

Recent researches have demonstrated the potential for bonding solid wood by a welding process without any application of adhesive. Mechanically induced friction seems to be contributing to bonding of two wood pieces by a process resembling welding. Two types of welding procedures have been studied on solid wood and OSB panels: linear friction for solid wood and rotational friction for OSB panel.
