Lengthy outpatient waiting lists are a global healthcare concern affecting most hospital specialities, including in Ireland. The result is a delay in treatment and suboptimal outcomes for newly referred patients. Simultaneously, patients requiring long-term follow-up care exist amid this overburdened system.
