NMR spectroscopy of proteins with paramagnetic metal ions, first performed with metalloproteins, is a unique technique to obtain long-range distance information for three-dimensional structure determinations. This thesis focuses on developing applications of paramagnetic NMR spectroscopy, particularly pseudocontact shifts, in drug discovery.
