Saaleeiszeit, Warthestadium und Weichseleiszeit in Norddeutschland

The Saale-Glaciation has, in North-Germany, two major stages: the Drenthian (maximum extension) and the Warthe. Between these stages there is an interstadial of longer duration; the ice-border receded to the Baltic Sea. After the Warthe-stage followed the Eem-Interglacial with characteristic marine and continental deposits. The Weichsel-Glaciation was a cold period with minor interstadial fluctuations (like the Alleröd-Interstadial).
