A critical review and a new interpretation is given of the Pleistocene deposits at Hörmating described by E. Ebers (1960) There is only a single „Parabraunerde" horizon, of the type considered by all authorities as evidence of interglacial weathering in Central Europe. In the upper part of the section (today covered with debris) E. Ebers described lacustrine mud and peat.
