Das Alter des Schädels von Rhünda. III.: C14-Datierung der Fundschicht

V. Jacobshagen, K. O. Münnich & J. C. Vogel
From the horizon of the Rhünda Skull C14-content and C13-deviation of calcsinter incrustations on algae and vegetable debris have been measured. According to the data obtained the age of the horizon is 9,000 years; considering the possibility that some part of the tested calcareous matter comes from loess material, it is 8.500 years at least. Thus the horizon must have been deposited during the late Preboreal or perhaps at the beginning of the Boreal period.
