The terrace-landscape of the river Lech between Landsberg and Schongau includes at least 16 sharply developed terraces of würm- and postwürm-glacial age. The top (oldest) 6 terrace levels can be connected with the terminal moraine stages of the Lechglacier; the youngest but one level is exactly to be dated by hurried early roman findings.
