A skull of Mustela (Putorius) eversmanni soergeli Éhik, discovered by a dredger working in gravels and sands of the Lower-Terrace of the River Leine, is used as a test of the reliability of this species in stratigraphy, and as an ecological indicator. Up to the present time M. eversmanni has been found in Central Europe with certainly only in different periods from the Würm Ice-Age and never in stratas older or younger than the Würm....
