Ein frühpleistozänes Pollenprofil aus dem nördlichen Alpenvorland

On Mount Uhlenberg near Augsburg in the area of the so-called Zusam-Platte, a coal seam about 75 cm thick was observed lying in gray and brown loam and underlaid by fluvioglacial gravels, most probably of Donau-glacial age. Its palynological study revealed parts of vegetational succession in early Pleistocene of northern Alpine Foreland: considerable quotas of Tsuga and Pinus haploxylon pollen, upwards diminishing, small shares of Castanea, traces of Pterocarya and (?)Carya.
