On the gravel terraces of the Lower Rhine area one can find in more or less regular distances forms resembling pockets which show a conspicious coloured (Fe-Oxides and -Hydroxides) filling of fine materials. They can get a width up to 6 m and a depth of 3 m. Till today they have been interpreted as cryoturbations.
