Weichselzeitliche Torfe aus den Ems—Terrassen bei Münster (Westf.)

In a sand-pit at Münster peat was found in a varve-like stratification at approximately 7 m below surface level of the Ems upper Lower Terrace, consisting in turn of Drepanocladus aduncus peat and silt. The sediments were crossed by ice-wedges. The pollen analysis gave evidence of a subarctic vegetation composition. Radiocarbon-dating of two peat samples indicated ages of 27700 ±450 and 12170 ± 700 years B.P. resp. These datings and the strati-graphic findings were compared...
