In parts of the Bavarian Alps there exists glacial overdeepening along valley axes. This overdeepening is bound on soft rocks; it also can be found in hard rocks with intensiv jointing, if loading and unloading of these rocks with repeated advances and retreats of glaciers caused a disaggregation of fissured zones.
