Late-weichselian lake deposits from several sites (mainly in Schleswig-Holstein, West Germany. Denmark) show an abrupt change from Alleröd to Younger Dryas sediments. The absence of transitional sediments points to a hiatus. Marks of erosion on the surface of the Alleröd layers, as observed at some sites, confirm this assumption.
