A borehole in the area of the Lower Rhine embayment, approximately 1,5 km to the east of the village Weeze, provided a succession, beginning with the channel gravel of the Elsterian up to the Eemian peats of Weeze, which are covered by gravel and sand of the older Lower Terrace.
