In the upper section of the Weser valley early Pleistocene sediments on terraces have been investigated for palaeomagnetic dating using the polarity of remanences. At Fürstenberg the polarity changes in a Pleistocene terrace, which is the third-oldest terrace after the scheme of Rohde (1989).
