Hippopotamus amphibius, Bubalus murrensis, Cervus dama, and a small rhinoceros (Dicerorhinus cf. megarhinus) are described as members of the last interglacial fauna from the northern Oberrheinebene (Germany). The ecological significance of their occurrence is being discussed. During the Pleistocene three invasions of Hippopotamus and two of Bubalus can be distinguished stratigraphically.
