After attaining a maximum extension at the turn of the century, the Inland Ice has retreated contin-uosly in Middle West Greenland within the last decades. Since a couple of years, however, there are strong indications of a new advance. Particularly south of Ørkendal near Søndre Strømfjord the glacier margins started to promote powerfully, overthrusting some of the older moraines. The peripheral drainage system is pushed aside by the steep ice margins causing major erosive processes....
