Elsterzeitliche (Anglian) Eisdynamik in East Anglia

Jürgen Ehlers, Philip Gibbard & Colin Whitemann
Fabric analyses in exposures in East Anglia have shown that during the Anglian Stage (Elsterian) an ice advance from the North Sea basin was followed by advances of British ice, first from a westerly, later from a northerly direction. The unsynchronous advance and decay of the two ice sheets and the simultaneous isostatic depression in the North Sea area resulted in a temporary northeasterly ice movement direction.
