The Quaternary deposits in the lower Wehra valley are considered essentially as fluvial or glacifluvial gravel deposits. With the help of a longitudinal valley profile the several gravel deposits were subdivided and correlated with the deposits of the High Rhine Valley. There are recognizable gravel deposits of three Low Terraces (Würmian), one High Terrace (Rissian) and remainders of older gravel deposits.
