The so far largest skull of Bos primigenius was discovered in the fluvial deposits of the Rhine in Groß-Rohrheim near Darmstadt. Stratigraphically, most probably, the find is attributed to the last interglacial period. The measurements of the skull exceed known measurements from the Central European Pleistocene and Holocene.
